Timeline
What moved in the archive on a given day or range, as totals and as an itemised list.
Timeline answers a different question from Files and Records. Those two ask what do I have. Timeline asks what changed, and when.
It has two views. Overview counts what moved. Detail lists it line by line.
Choosing the period
Both views share the same period control:
- Day looks at a single date, with arrows to step to the previous or next day
- Range looks at a span
The date being viewed and the total number of changes in it are shown in the top right of the page.
Overview
Six counters summarise the period, split so that creation, modification and removal never get mixed together:
| Counter | What it counts |
|---|---|
| Files created | Files that appeared in the period. |
| Files updated | Files that changed. |
| Files archived | Files archived in the period. |
| Records created | Records that appeared. |
| Records updated | Records that changed. |
| Records deleted | Records removed at source. |
Below them, two panels break the same period down further. Records by type shows which record types moved. Files by type shows which kinds of file moved, grouped as Spreadsheets, Documents, Images, Archives and Other.
Detail
Detail lists the individual changes behind those counters.
| Column | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| When | How long ago the change was captured. |
| Entity | Whether the change was to a Record or a File. |
| Change | Created, Updated or Deleted. |
| What changed | The record or file name. |
| Type | The record type, or the file kind. |
| By | Who made the change, where the source reports it. |
| Environment | Which environment the change belongs to. |
Detail can be filtered by entity, by change type and by record type.
The By column shows n/a when the source system did not report who made the change. That is a property of what the ERP exposed, not a gap in the capture.
